Another Bordeaux variety, Cabernet Franc excels in St.Emilion and Pomerol. It is equally at home in areas of the Loire Valley, namely Chinon and Bourgueil. We find this wine to be an amalgam of the two regions, expressing the delicacy and floral hints of the Loire and darker fruit and savory notes of the right bank of Bordeaux.

The Colvin’s are representative of many of our Texas growers. Small, well managed vineyards farmed by families out of love and passion. Indeed, they make the winemaker’s job a little easier by focusing on quality rather than quantity. The proliferation of small growers like the Colvin’s represents a maturation of the Texas wine industry, demonstrating a growing partnership between family farmers and wineries.
